Refill Before You Run Empty
Because pouring from an empty cup just isn’t God’s plan for you.
✨ Recharge Your Energy
Because pouring from an empty cup just isn’t God’s plan for you.
Whether you're chasing toddlers, juggling work deadlines, or holding space for your family’s every need, this is your reminder: you matter too. Recharging your energy isn’t selfish, it’s sacred. Here are a few ways to fill your cup this week:
🌿 Spiritually: Start With Stillness
Give God your first, not your leftovers. Even 5 minutes of quiet with a verse, worship song, or whispered prayer can center your spirit. Try reading Psalm 23 or saying this simple breath prayer:
"God, refill me. Remind me. Restore me."
🌱 Ground Yourself in the Present
Put your phone down for a moment. Step outside barefoot. Breathe deeply. Stretch your arms overhead. Speak gratitude aloud.
Being present in your body brings peace to your mind.
🥗 Nourish to Flourish
Skipping meals isn’t serving you. You deserve real food and not just toddler leftovers! Keep easy snacks on hand: fruit, protein bars, hard-boiled eggs, or smoothies. Fueling yourself well is an act of love, not luxury.
⏳ Be Intentional With Time
Your time is sacred. I keep a notebook and notes app open to write my random thoughts while I’m at work so I can focus on a task. Write down the 3 most important things for your day and give yourself grace for the rest. Protect pockets of peace. Say no when you need to. And remember: rest is productive too.
🧠 A Husband’s Take: Recharging Without Stopping
Let me be real, this whole “refill your cup” thing is easier said than done.

🪜 Hustle Culture
Over the last few years, I’ve been slowly moving away from the world’s view of “hustle culture.” Being an entrepreneur means the to-do list grows faster than you can cross things off. It’s not just a job, it’s your dream, your name, your future.
Sometimes you don’t even realize you’re running on fumes 💨 until the week starts closing in and you genuinely don’t know how you’re going to make it through.
For example, I just wrapped a
🚵♀️ 40-day road trip filming for an incredible documentary called Ride For Equity, focused on financial/social equity, where cyclists climbed hills that felt like stairways to heaven (view bts) (view videos).
🧑🏭 I got home, had two days off, then dove into three straight days of location scouts and another 10 days straight of film production.
When my wife gently says, “Babe, you need to step away,” my instinct says:
My instinct says no, but what I’m learning is that recharging doesn’t always mean stopping. Sometimes it means pacing.
🏃 🏃♂️ Similar to when you’re running or cycling a long race, you don’t stop, you adjust your pace. You pull back just enough to keep going without burning out. That’s what I’m leaning into. Everything won’t get done today, tomorrow, or even next week, and that’s okay. Pacing is my recharge.
If you have to pace yourself or recharge throughout the week, drop your stories in the DM’s.
